(Tunable Kernel Parameters)
What Are the Side Effects of Changing the Tunable?
Changing the value of cmpt_restrict_tl
to 1 can break TLI/XTI applications that are relying on
Streams Local Transport Drivers to work in a compartmentalized environment. If you want to allow the
inter-compartment communication between certain compartments, add the explicit compartment IPC
rules to the compartment configuration.
What Other Tunables Should Be Changed at the Same Time?
This parameter is independent of other tunables parameters.
WARNINGS
All HP-UX kernel tunable parameters are release-specific. This parameter can be removed or be used
differently in future releases of HP-UX.
Installation of optional kernel software, from HP or other vendors, can cause changes to tunable parame-
ter values. After installation, some tunable parameters can no longer be set to their default or recom-
mended values. For information about the effects of software installation on tunable values, consult the
documentation of the kernel software being installed. For information about optional kernel software
that was factory installed on your system, see the HP-UX Release Notes at
http://www.hp.com/go/hpux-core-docs
.
