-h, -help
Instructs cmgr to execute the help operation for the template elements specified by the xpath option.
The help operation displays any <help> sub-elements encountered.
-import
Instructs cmgr to execute the import operation for the template elements specified by the xpath
option for the template specified by the template option.
The import operation is used to process
XML formatted data imported from the exchange file
specified by the xfile option
-l, -list
Instructs cmgr to execute the list operation for the template elements specified by the xpath.
The list operation is used to identify the configuration data associated to a configuration set. The
cmgr elements may support the -verbose option to display detailed contents of the specified
configuration components.
-p, -prompt level
Integer value of cmgrs prompt level. The cmgr command will only prompt for a variable when first
encountered if it does not have an assigned value, or the prompt_level attribute for the variable in
the template is less than or equal to level. prompt is ignored if used with the batch option. The
default prompt level is ‘‘1’’.
-r, -replace
Instructs cmgr to execute the replace operation for the template elements specified by the xpath.
The replace operation is used to replace the contents of the configuration associated with the newly
supplied data.
-s, -status
Instructs cmgr to execute the status operation for the template elements specified by the xpath
option.
The status operation is used to display dynamic information related to the template elements.
-t, -template templateName
Identifies the template file to use for this operation.
templateName is processed as a file system path when it is terminated with a .cst suffix. Otherwise, a
path in the form /opt/hpcmgr/etc/templates/templateName.cst is constructed by cmgr.
-V, -Validate
Instructs cmgr to validate the template’s
XML
before executing the selected operation for the tem-
plate. The cmgr will validate the template with a Data Type Definiton (
DTD) if one is referenced by
the template. Otherwise, the
XML is considered valid.
-v, -verbose
Instructs cmgr to print verbose messages.
-x, -xpath ‘‘paths’’
An
XML xpath specification that identifies the elements to process in the specified template. If xpath
is not specified all elements in the template are processed.
-xml, -xmloutput
Instructs cmgr to display output in
XML format for the list and status operations.
-xfile filename
Full path name of the exchange file used for import and export operations.
Variables
Variables are defined by <var> elements in a cmgr template (see cst Documentation). The cmgr com-
mand will assign values to the variables from the command line or via prompt.
Each template has its own variables. The <help> sub elements for the <var> elements defined in a tem-
plate can be displayed via the -help operation. This can be useful for discovering the variables offered by
a given template. When cmgr prompts for a variable, the <help> sub element for the variable can be
displayed by entering a question mark (‘‘?’’) at the prompt.
