If the pointer var passed to any of these functions is not aligned to the size of its data type, a SIGBUS sig-
nal may be generated.
If
mmap is done on an I/O device with a
MAP_IO attribute and the virtual address returned by mmap is
passed as a pointer to these APIs, a SIGILL signal may be generated.
