In this NIS environment, the master map files reside on the NIS master server. Copies of these
map files are periodically transferred to the NIS slave systems. The NIS servers run the ypserv
daemon which serves the information requested by clients. NIS clients run the ypbind daemon
which establishes a connection to an NIS server, enabling client processes to get information
from the NIS server. Users can change their passwords using the yppasswd command.
