Installing PAM Kerberos v1.26
This section describes how to install PAM Kerberos v1.26 on HP-UX 11i v1 , HP-UX 11i v2, and
HP-UX 11i v3 operating systems. It also discusses the system requirements for installing PAM
Kerberos v1.26.
System Requirements
Table 1-4 lists the minimum system requirements for installing PAM Kerberos v1.26.

Additional disk space of 1 KB per user is required to store the initial TGT in
credential cache files.
The size of each cache file grows in proportion with additional service tickets. You
must have enough space in the /tmp directory to accommodate the credential cache
files.

Minimum of 32 MB memory and sufficient swap space. HP recommends a minimum
of 50 MB space.

Installation Instructions
You can install PAM Kerberos from the Web, or you can select it when you are installing the OE
media:
To install PAM Kerberos v1.26 from the Web, complete the following steps:
1. Review “System Requirements” (page 9) to ensure that your system meets PAM Kerberos
v1.26 installation requirements.
2. Go to the HP Software Depot Web site at: http://h20293.www2.hp.com/
3. Use the Search button to search the PAM Kerberos v1.26 product.
The product catalog page is displayed.
4. Select PAM Kerberos in the product catalog.
The PAM Kerberos v1.26 page is displayed.
5. Read the “Overview” and “Installation” pages for PAM Kerberos v 1.26.
6. Select the Receive for Free>> option at the bottom right of the page.
7. Select the appropriate operating system in the Software specification list.
8. Enter the registration information in the form.
9. Read and accept the terms and conditions.
10. Click Next>>.
The Electronic Delivery Receipt page is displayed.
11. Select the PAM Kerberos v1.26 depot under Download Software.
12. Save the PAM Kerberos v1.26 depot in a local directory, for example, /tmp.
13. To verify whether the PAM Kerberos v1.26 depot is saved properly in the local directory,
run the following command at the HP-UX prompt:
md5sum <depot_name>
