1 KRB5 Client Release Notes for HP-UX 11.0 Announcement HP-UX provides KRB5 Client Software including libraries, header files and utilities for implementing secured client/server applications in either 32-bit or 64-bit development environment. The client libraries are based on MIT Kerberos V5 1.1.1 release. The KRB5-Client libraries support DES as specified in RFC 1510 of the IETF. This release is compatible with MIT Kerberos 1.2 and interoperable with Microsoft Windows 2000.
KRB5 Client Release Notes for HP-UX 11.0 What’s in This Version What’s in This Version The KRB5-Client software is based on MIT Kerberos V5 1.1.1 with all the major fixes to the buffer overrun vulnerabilities detected in MIT Kerberos V5 1.1.1 release. It consists of libraries, header files, man-pages and Kerberos utilities, which help in performing command-line or programmatic authentication. KRB5 Client Release Notes for HP-UX 11.0 Known Problems and Workarounds Known Problems and Workarounds • The following warning message may be displayed during the installation of KRB5-Client Version-1.0 software: "WARNING: Can’t create core transition links since files/directories exist /usr/bin/kdestroy -> /opt/dce/bin/kdestroy /usr/bin/kinit -> /opt/dce/bin/kinit /usr/bin/klist -> /opt/dce/bin/klist" This is a known problem and it can be ignored. • The utility kdestroy does not accept the -e option.
