• Dynamic Propagation
This facility has been provided to automatically propagate incremental changes from the
Primary server to the associated Secondary servers, thus synchronizing both the Primary
and the Secondary servers.
• 3DES Encryption
This version provides 3DES encryption type for secret key technology. 3DES is a much
stronger encryption type than the 56 bit DES encryption algorithm. You can configure
your server to be either DES or 3DES.
NOTE DES, is still used as the default encryption key type, for backward
compatibility.
• Windows 2000 interoperability
This version enables cross realm authentication with the Windows 2000 server, to allow
you to work in a mixed platform environment.
• Client-Server Clock Skew
This version allows you to clock-skew between the client and the server. You need not have
NTP synchronization between the machines.
• Pre-threaded Concurrent Server
In this version the performance has been enhanced as a pool of threads is made available
for simultaneous servicing of multiple client requests.
• C-Tree database
Kerberos Server Version 3.0 uses the C-Tree database as the backend database that uses
B+ Tree algorithm.
• GUI-Administrator
This version of the Kerberos Server has a graphical-user-interface administration tool
that can be used to create and manage the principals in the Kerberos realms.
• HP Kerberos Administrator
The HP Kerberos Administrator is a graphical user interface that can be used to
administer the principal database.
Use the Administrator to:
— Create and delete principals
— Alter principal account settings
