Conﬁguration Files for GSS-API

Three conﬁguration ﬁles are essential for proper functioning of GSS-API:

• /etc/gss/mech

• /etc/gss/qop

• /etc/gss/gsscred.conf

NOTE IPv6 support for GSS-API has been enabled only for the Itanium

binaries on HP-UX 11i v2 systems.

These three kinds of ﬁles are described under the subheadings that

follow.

The mech File

The mechanism ﬁle, or mech ﬁle (/etc/gss/mech) speciﬁes the

underlying security mechanism. The entries in this ﬁle are shown in

Table 3-6.
