1 HP-UX iSCSI Software Initiator Release Notes Announcement The HP-UX iSCSI Software Initiator is a software implementation of the iSCSI protocol (RFC 3720) based on the HP-UX host TCP/IP stack. The iSCSI protocol defines a mass storage transport wedge between TCP and the SCSI Services layer. The HP-UX iSCSI Software Initiator is compliant with RFC 3720. To access the IETF iSCSI Specification RFC 3720, go to: http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3720.
Revision B.11.31.03 of the HP-UX iSCSI Software Initiator includes the following new feature: • Resolved the issue that reported the incorrect residual count to the application while performing I/O with Disk-to-Disk (D2D) tape targets (QXCR1000993182). This fix enables support for the D2D family of backup systems. For the information of the D2D device models supported, see the support matrix at: http://docs.hp.com/en/iSCSI_SM/ iSCSISupportMatrix.pdf.
• Problem: The scsimgr command displays iSCSI port and node names in hex format instead of ASCII format. Therefore, this information is not useful. Workaround: This issue will be corrected in a subsequent release of the scsimgr command. • Problem: When performing an OE update from HP-UX 11i v2 to HP-UX 11i v3 using Update-UX, the iSCSI product is not installed properly. Workaround: Remove and reinstall the iSCSI Software Initiator on HP-UX 11i v3 after the update.
