mip6admin Commands Quick-Reference
The following table lists and briefly describes the commands for the mip6admin administration tool:

Commands For Starting, Stopping, and Dynamically-Configuring mip6mod
start [-f
conf_file
]
Starts and configures mip6mod with the specified Mobile IPv6 configuration file. If no file
name is specified, the command starts and configures mip6mod with /etc/mip6.conf.
stop Stops mip6mod.
setconfiguration
Dynamically-configures mip6mod (does not require restart). Use the command to
dynamically-configure individual mip6mod parameters, or to specify a filename to
dynamically-configure mip6mod with. Refer to “Dynamically-configuring mip6mod:
setconfiguration” on page 66 for a complete description of the usage for this command.
debug [-ipsec] [-rr] [-rl] [-bu]
Toggles (switches) mip6mod debug and security enforcement settings.
Commands For Reporting or Resetting mipmod and rtradvd Information
report Reports comprehensive information about the Mobile IPv6 kernel module and Router
Advertisement Daemon.
getconfiguration
Reports current Mobile IPv6 kernel module and Router Advertisements Daemon
configuration.
prefixes Reports prefix information from the Mobile IPv6 kernel module and Router
Advertisement Daemon.
bindings [-list] [-delete] [
mobile node home address
]
Reports or deletes Mobile IPv6 kernel module binding cache entries.
flush [-force] [-bindings] [-prefixes]
Flushes all binding cache and prefix list entries in the Mobile IPv6 kernel module.
logevents [-f
log-file
] [-l
log-level
]
Displays Mobile IPv6 syslog entries (reads /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log by default).
statistics [-reset] [-general] [-bindings] [-rr]
Reports or resets the Mobile IPv6 kernel module’s statistical counters per interface.
halist [-i
interface name
]
Reports list of Home Agents from the Router Advertisement Daemon.
rtradvstatistics [-reset] [-i
interface name
]
Reports or resets Router Advertisement Daemon statistical counters per interface.
Commands For Managing mip6admin Sessions
help | ? Displays help information on one or more mip6admin commands.
quit | exit Exits the interactive mip6admin session.
clearscreen Clears the interactive mip6admin session text on the screen.
