Outbound TCP (MAERTS) Test Results
The netperf TCP MAERTS test also measures unidirectional transmission of TCP data without
connection establishment time. In a TCP MAERTS test, the netserver server sends streams of TCP
data to the netperf client, so measurements taken on the netserver system indicate performance
for processing outbound packets. IPFilter is installed and configured on the netserver system.
This document includes the following data from TCP MAERTS tests, as measured on the netserver
system:
Outbound TCP Throughput
The data transfer rate, expressed in Mb/s.
Outbound TCP CPU Utilization
The percentage of CPU capacity used.
Outbound TCP Service Demand
The number of microseconds of CPU time required to process one KB of outbound data.
