If you have a previous version of the Internet Express OpenLDAP product installed, you must
manually uninstall it prior to installing the latest version. If you do not have a previous version
of Internet Express OpenLDAP installed, continue to Step 5.
The data storage for the most current version of OpenLDAP is incompatible with previous
OpenLDAP versions. You cannot upgrade from an existing version of Internet Express OpenLDAP
to this new version.
To upgrade to the latest version of Internet Express OpenLDAP from a previous version, follow
these steps:
a. Unload the data from your current OpenLDAP environment using the slapcat utility.
This creates a set of .ldif files containing the unloaded data.
b. Back up your current OpenLDAP environment, including the .ldif files.
c. Remove OpenLDAP using swremove.
d. Install the latest version of Internet Express OpenLDAP.
e. Load data into the new OpenLDAP directory from the .ldif files, using the slapadd
utility.
For more information on slapcat and slapadd, see the OpenLDAP manpages.
4. If you have previous version of the Internet Express MySQL product installed, you must manually
uninstall it before installing the latest version. If you do not have a previous version of Internet
Express MySQL, continue to Step 6.
To upgrade to the latest version of Internet Express MySQL from a previous version, follow
these steps:
a. Back up the MySQL database.
b. Follow these steps for each database directory to be migrated:
1) Use the mysqldump utility for the current version of MySQL on your system to create
a dump of all the databases in that database directory. For more information on the
mysqldump utility, see the mysqldump manpage.
2) Remove or relocate this database directory. If your previous database directory was
created using an HP-UX Internet Express MySQL version and you only worked with
the default database, the database directory is /var/opt/iexpress/mysql. The
default directory must be removed even if it was not used.
