Installing HP-UX Internet Express
This section describes the installation process for HP-UX Internet Express.
NOTE: If you are installing an HP-UX Internet Express component for the first time, HP recommends
uninstalling any previously loaded versions of the open source products.
To install HP-UX Internet Express, follow these steps:
1. To install HP-UX Internet Express components from Internet Express CD/DVD on systems currently
running HP-UX 11i v2, follow these steps:
a. Install the PHKL_26269, PHKL_28025, and PHCO_25841 patches to enable long filename
support. You can download these patches from any of the following locations:
The GOLDBase11i bundle on the Support Plus CD (June 2003 or later) for HP-UX
11i v1
The IT Resource Center Web site at http://itrc.hp.com.
b. Insert the CD into the drive.
NOTE: While mounting the HP-UX Internet Express CD/DVD, you must invoke the mount
command using the -orr option to recognize and read long filenames.
c. Mount the CD on your system. The parameters for mounting your CD-ROM may vary. An
example command for mounting the HP-UX Internet Express CD/DVD is as follows:
mount -orr /dev/dsk/c1t1d1 <depot-path>
The <depot-path> entry must be an empty directory. If you are installing HP-UX Internet
Express components from HP Software Depot, go to https://h20392.www2.hp.com/
portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=HPUXIEXP1123 and download
the <component-name>.depot files.
2. To view the list of bundles on the CD or in the download directory, enter the following
command:
$ swlist -l bundle -s <depot-path>
Bundle tag, version numbers, and brief descriptions of the components contained in the bundles
are displayed.
HP-UX Internet Express version A.17.00 contains all the components in four bundles. Table 2
lists the bundle names and the minimum disk space required for installing each bundle.
