Administration Commands
dene_sdlc_port
LEASED
Port is used by a leased line.
For a switched line used for outgoing calls (port_type is PORT_SWITCHED and inb_link_act_lim is 0),
specify one of the following values:
SW_DIAL_AUTO
Automatic dial-out capabilities
SW_DIAL_MAN
Manual dial-out capabilities
For a switched line used for incoming calls (port_type is PORT_SWITCHED and out_link_act_lim is 0),
specify one of the following values:
SW_ANSWER_AUTO
Automatic answer capabilities
SW_ANSWER_MAN
Manual answer capabilities
max_xid_size
The maximum size, in bytes, of an XID that will be sent or received on this link. This parameter helps
minimize buffer usage. A safe absolute maximum is 256.
max_retry_count
Maximum number of times that a frame or group of frames can be retransmitted on this port before a problem
is diagnosed. Most users set this value to 5.
opt1
Port options ag 1. Set this parameter to NONE to specify no options, or combine one or more of the follow-
ing options with a + character to specify a value:
FOUR_WIRE
Specify this value when you have a 4-wire connection that is capable of sending data in both directions
simultaneously. However, the connection may be half-duplex, because half-duplex is the most common
mode of operation.
Do not specify this value when you have a 2-wire connection that can send data in only one direction
at a time.
NRZI
Use NRZI serial encoding for transmitting data over the data link. This type of encoding works in the
majority of cases; try it rst if you are connecting to a new network. If you do not specify this option,
NRZ serial encoding is used on this link.
If you are conguring a link to a network, use the encoding type that is used by the rest of the network.
All stations on a network that communicate with each other must use the same encoding type. Neither
type of encoding works for all situations. If you experience problems when using one type of encoding,
change the encoding type for all stations to the other type.
FULL_DUPLEX
Specify this value if data is sent in both directions simultaneously. This setting requires a 4-wire
physical line. You must set this option if either pri_fdplx or sec_fdplx is set to YES.
Do not specify this value if data is sent in only one direction at a time.
