HP-UX Host Intrusion Detection System Version 4.1 Administrator's Guide

2. Fill in the Host Name and IP Address fields. There are three ways you can do this,
described in order of preference.
A host name must start with a letter and contain only letters, digits, periods,
underscores, and hyphens. Host names are not case sensitive. For example, xy3-z5
and xy3-z5.a32c.edu.
An IP address consists of four decimal fields, each in the range 0 to 255, separated
by periods. For example, 1.2.3.4.
a. Host Name
Enter the host name of the agent host in the Host Name field.
If the administration system is in the same domain as the agent system, you
can omit the domain. For example, if both systems are in the abc.edu domain,
you can enter xyz.abc.edu or xyz.
The Set IP Address button becomes active. Figure 6-3 shows the Add Host
screen.

Name”. Click OK and redo this step, making sure to enter an IP address.
b. IP Address

decimal notation, such as 192.151.52.13.
