HP-UX Host Intrusion Detection System Release 4.1 Release Notes for HP-UX 11i v1 | HP-UX 11i v2
NOTE: You can skip this step if there are no occurrences of priv_uid_list in
any of the schedules.
TIP: After this step and before migrating to HIDS v4.1 in the next step, it is
recommended as a precautionary measure that the schedules in
/var/opt/ids/gui/logs/<schedulename>.txt are copied to another
system in case they need to be recovered for any reason.
5. Upgrade the administration system to HIDS v4.1.
6. Log in as user ids.
7. For each schedule saved in step 3 above, enter the following command:
% /opt/ids/bin/migrator -i /var/opt/ids/gui/logs/<schedule_name>.txt
This command parses the schedule and places the schedule portion in
/etc/opt/ids/schedules/<schedule_name>.txt and the group information
in /etc/opt/ids/schedules/groups/<group_name>.txt
This command also adds new HIDS v4.1 global properties in the schedule file.
NOTE: The HIDS v4.1 Admin GUI and CLUI will only operate on schedules in
/etc/opt/ids/schedules and /etc/opt/ids/schedules/groups. Do not
move these files into other directories.
8. To view the migrated schedules, open the HIDS v4.1 Schedule Manager screen.
Migrating Schedules from HIDS v4.0 to HIDS v4.1
To migrate schedules from HIDS v4.0 to HIDS v4.1 start the HIDS v4.0 GUI Schedule
Manager and then complete steps 2 and 3 and 5–7 in “Migrating Schedules to HIDS
v4.1 Directly.”
Preinstallation
Before installing HIDS v4.1 on a system in which a previous version of HP-UX HIDS
installed and running, HP recommends that you stop the idsagent process.
