New and Changed Features

HP-UX HIDS Release 3.1 runs on HP-UX 11i v2, 11i v1.6, and 11i v1. It is available in the

installation bundles for HP-UX 11i v2, in the Operating Environment bundles for HP-UX 11i

v1, in the Application Releases, and from the HP Software Depot. In this document, “11i”

unqualiﬁed encompasses all the supported 11i versions.

Release 3.1 Highlights

HP-UX HIDS Release 3.1 contains the following new features and enhancements:

• Fixes to a number of defects which result in abnormal termination of idscor process.

• New information is added to kernel template generated alerts: terminal device ﬁle name

(in the form /dev/pts/tc), host name and IP address of the remote host from which the

trigger for the corresponding alert was generated; Appendix B of the Administrator’s

Guide contains more information.
