Automatic Startup

Alert Synchronization

On When this option is turned on (checked), the System Manager will

automatically resynchronizethealerts with running agents whenever

the System Manager is restarted. This is equivalent to choosing

Actions > Resync from the System Manager screen.

This option is not available if Automatic Startup Status Poll is not

checked.

You may wish to disable this feature if you do not currently have any

HP-UX HIDS agents installed or operational on agent hosts. With the

automatic synchronization feature disabled, the System Manager will

not attempt to connect to the agent systems and you will avoid an

unnecessary delay or timeout at start up.

Beep on New Alerts On If this option is turned on (checked), the System Manager will issue a

beep whenever a new alert is received.

Agent Response

Set this value to adjust for typical timeout delays in your network

environment. If the HP-UX HIDS host-based software running on an

agent system does not respond to a request within the speciﬁed

timeout period, the host-based agent is considered to be unreachable

and the Status ﬁeld of the System Manager screen displays No

Agent Available.

You can increase this value to account for network latency.
