Steps for provisioning the new Blade

1. If you are using:

• Pass-Through modules rather than Virtual Connect, you need the physical MAC address

and WWPN (World Wide Port Name) from the system, so the actual hardware must

already be present. Refer to

HP Integrity BL860C Server Blade HP Service Guide for

information on determining the MAC address and WWPN.

• Virtual Connect to manage the blade, you need not wait for the hardware to be

physically present. Create a Virtual Connect Profile for the new blade. The steps here

are shown on Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager, which simplifies management of

multiple blade enclosures.

From the initial Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager screen, select Define a Profile from

Profile Management.
