HP secure development lifecycle Starting with HP-UX 11i v3 March 2013 update release, HP secure development lifecycle provides the ability to authenticate HP-UX software. Software delivered through this release has been digitally signed using HP's private key. You can now verify the authenticity of the software before installing the products, delivered through this release. To verify the software signatures in signed depot, the following products must be installed on your system:   B.11.31.

Introduction This whitepaper describes how to migrate or upgrade to HP-UX Directory Server 8.10.05 or later from Netscape Directory Server 6.11 or 6.21, Red Hat Directory Server 7.1 or 8.0, or HP -UX directory Server 8.1. HP recommends to refer the HP-UX Directory Server Release Notes before proceeding with migration. To restore HP-UX Directory Server 8.10.x, reinstall the HP-UX Directory Server 8.10.x product package. Stop the directory server instance, and extract the configuration data to /etc/opt/dirsrv directory, and run the bak2db command to restore the data. For example: # /opt/dirsrv/slapd-instance_name/stop-slapd # cd /etc/opt/dirsrv # tar -xvf /home/files/hpds8103cfg.tar # /opt/dirsrv/slapd-instance_name/bak2db \ /home/files/bak/slapd-instance_name Performing an Upgrade to HP-UX Directory Server 8.10.

Case-2: Ex: dc=example,dc=com In this case, replication works fine after migration. To ensure replication works in Case-1, see Upgrading Servers in Replication for suffix with spaces between the domain components. The process for upgrading servers in replication is the same as for a single server, but the order in which the Directory Server instances are upgraded is important to keep from interrupting the replication process.

. Test replication to make sure that it is working properly. Note If you enable new features like S yntax Validation Checking and S trict DN S yntax Enforcement that are released with HP-UX Directory Server 8.10.05 or later, it may affect the existing data after migration. By default, these features are disabled. Syntax Validation Checking feature checks the syntax of attributes during operations like ADD, MOD (add value), MOD (replace value), MODRDN, and Import.
