7.2.2.1.2 Existence of the USB driver
To check the USB driver installed on the system, you can see the output of swlist
command. You can also verify the same by checking the following files:
In case of latest USB kernel drivers you will have a character device file
/dev/mousemux.
In case of USB-OO kernel stack you will find a device file
/dev/deviceFileSystem/mouseMux
7.2.2.1.3 Input device entries in the X start-up files
For Xf86:
In the /etc/X11/XF86Config file there should be a valid entry for a core pointer
device in the ServerLayout section.
For details about the correct entries, see the Graphics Administration Guide (GAG).
For Xhp:
In case of Xhp, there is no specific entry of the mouse in any of the start-up
configuration files.
7.2.2.2 Keyboard as input device
Although for start-up of Xserver (Xf86 and Xhp), physical connection of the keyboard
is not mandatory, the correct entry of keyboard device must be present in
/etc/X11/XF86Config file for starting Xf86.
For more information on correct entries, see the Graphics Administration Guide (GAG).
7.2.3 Error due to incorrect entry in start-up configuration file
There are some configuration files that are required during the execution of Xserver.
If any one of these files is deleted or wrongly edited then Xserver may fail to start.
Users are advised NOT to change these files manually; instead they should use SAM
/SMH to configure them.
