6 Conﬁguring HP-UX DCE Cells

This chapter tells how to choose a DCE cell conﬁguration tool and how to use the tools to conﬁgure, destroy

(unconﬁgure), start, and stop cells. Two tools are discussed, the DCE Conﬁguration Manager (DCM) and the

dce_config script.

This chapter also discusses how to install DCE login utilities, how to set up intercell communication with

DCE GDA, and how to conﬁgure MC/ServiceGuard.

To conﬁgure HP-UX DCE 1.9 software, you must have previously installed HP-UX DCE. Chapter 4, “Before

Installing HP-UX DCE Version 1.9,” on page 31 for planning information; see Chapter 5, “Installing HP-UX
