Installing HP DCE 1.8

Overview

Here is a brief overview of the installation steps:

1. Read Chapter 3, "Before Installing HP DCE 1.8".

2. Load HP DCE software from media to a network source area using

swcopy.

3. Install ﬁlesets on individual systems using swinstall.

NOTE Although HP DCE/9000 Version 1.8 can be installed on both the HP-UX

11i 32-bit and the 64-bit OS, HP DCE/9000 Version 1.8 (server)remains a

32-bit application. HP DCE/9000 Version 1.8 does not support

development of 64-bit DCE applications, however the libraries provided

support both 32 and 64 bit application development.
