New and Changed Features in Version A.02.03 This release contains the following new enhancements and changes: CIFS File System Module (CFSM) for Concurrent NFS Client Access The HP CIFS Server implements the CIFS File System Module (CFSM) that allows CIFS file locks to inter-operate with accesses from NFS clients and other HP-UX processes. CFSM is a stackable file system module that can be stacked with other file system modules for use on physical file systems (like VxFS, HFS).
Winbind uses the blocking, synchronous behavior when enumerating users and groups. Set both winbind enum users and winbind enum groups to No, to force winbind to suppress the enumeration of users/groups. The default settings of these two parameters are Yes. TDB Memory Map Support This release supports performance enhancements which include enabling the configuration parameter "use mmap" to take advantage of fixed size memory map access of CIFS's Trivial Database (TDB) files.

Known Problems and Workarounds The following is a list of known problems and, where possible, the appropriate workarounds for the HP CIFS Server A.02.03 Problem Share mode security does not work with POSIX ACLs. Workaound Microsoft servers do not support share mode security and Windows NT ACLs. No workaround currently exists.
Problem The HP CIFS Server creates a smbnull user for guest access, which does not have or require a home directory. However the password/group file checker tool, pwck, on HP-UX always assumes that each entry in the /etc/passwd file should have its own login directory.
Samba community also observed the problem and has further characterized it in the Bugzilla at https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1094 Problem Because of increased Windows security requirements, profile storing may fail if adequate authority has not been configured for roaming profiles. Workaround Set profile acls = yes for the profile share used for the user profile files.
(refuse machine password change), returning 0 Added user user1 The user will be added correctly and the misleading messages will only be displayed with the first occurrence of adding a new Samba user. Workaround Verify that the user has been added correctly and ignore the misleading messages. Problem 64 bit Windows XP clients are unable to add a new ACE.
