New Fixes in HP CIFS Server A.02.02
HP CIFS Server A.02.02 provides fixes for the following problems:
Problem when using Japanese multibyte in filename on HP
CIFS Server A.02.01.*
(CR JAGaf70363)
When a file or a directory on the CIFS server A.02.01.* system has
specific Japanese multibyte character in it’s filename, problems occur
when PC users access it.
Syslog was flooded with non-critical CIFS Server information
(CR JAGaf48631)
This fix changes the smb.conf parameter syslog from default of 1
to 0 to avoid flooding the syslog with non-critical CIFS Server
information.
CIFS Server start and stop scripts affected non-CIFS product
daemons
(CR JAGaf67919)
A defect has been fixed in which the CIFS scripts affected non-CIFS
product daemons.
The log file configuration parameter failed to change the
path for log.nmbd
(CR JAGaf67951)
The log.nmbd file was created in the default location even if the log
file = [path] parameter is set. The log basename option -l also
failed to work with the smbd and nmbd commands. Both of these
logging issues have been resolved with this release.
Multiple CIFS daemons had been permitted to share the
configuration file on CFS
(CR JAGaf71024)
If HP CIFS Server is started on multiple Veritas CFS nodes,
simultaneously sharing the same files, there could be data
corruption.
Samba server reported no buffer space error in syslog
(CR JAGaf72124)
