well as other helpful information. HP CIFS Server A.02.02 is supported
on HP-UX release 11i v1 and v2. The following list is a summary of the
changes included in this release.
Common Internet File System (CIFS) Server A.02.02
This version of HP CIFS Server software is based on Samba 3.0.14a.
It is a feature release that delivers fixes and functionality from the
new Samba base version while maintaining all previously supported
HP specific fixes and enhancements.
Provides idmap_rid support. The idmap_rid facility with winbind
provides a unique mapping of Windows SIDs to local UNIX UIDs and
GIDs throughout a domain without requiring an LDAP directory.
You may use idmap_rid in both Windows NT and Windows
2000/2003 ADS domains.
Provides support for publishing printers in an MS Windows
2000/2003 ADS domain. Publishing printers makes it easy for clients
to find printers and download printer drivers.
Changes some supported smb.conf configuration parameters in this
release.
Provides disk quota support for NFS mounted directories exported as
shares.
This version of the HP CIFS Server addresses problems resolved
since version A.02.01.02. Please refer to the section “New Fixes in
HP CIFS Server A.02.02” on page 5 for details.
