HP CIFS Server Requirements and
Limitations
Prior to installing the HP CIFS product, check that your system can
accommodate the following product requirements and limitations.
HP-UX Memory and Disc Requirements
32-bit and 64-bit HP-UX 11i v1 systems can boot with as little as 64 MB
of RAM and 1GB of disk space. 64-bit HP-UX 11i v2 system can boot with
as little as 1GB of RAM and 2 GB of disk space. HP recommends the
following minimum memory and disk requirements to allow for growth
and maintenance:
HP-UX 11i v1 32-bit—128MB RAM—1-2 GB disk
HP-UX 11i v1 64-bit—512MB RAM—2-3 GB disk
HP-UX 11i v2 64-bit—1 GB RAM for each CPU—2-8.5 GB disk
HP CIFS Server A.02.02 Installation Requirements
HP CIFS Server A.02.02 requires approximately 78 MB of disk space for
installation on the HP-UX 11i v1 machine and 146 MB of disk space on
the HP-UX 11i v2 machine. The HP CIFS Server is composed of the
following components:
CIFS Server source code files/HP-UX 11i v1 — 27.2 MB
CIFS Server File and Print Services/HP-UX 11i v1 — 50.7 MB
CIFS Server source code files/HP-UX 11i v2 —25.3 MB
CIFS Server File and Print Services/HP-UX 11i v2 —120.2 MB
NOTE The CIFS Server source code files are not required for successful
execution of HP CIFS Server. You can remove them after installation at
the following location:
/opt/samba_src
