Fixes in HP CIFS Server A.01.11.05
HP CIFS Server A.01.11.05 provides the following fixes:
• Volume Label Corruption on Windows XP
(CR JAGaf58907)
This fix resolves a volume label corruption that was found with
Windows XP only. With this fix, the volume string specified by the
volume option in smb.conf can be correctly presented on Windows
side.
• Machine Password Time-out Failed If an IP Address Was
Used in Password Server
(CR JAGaf62926)
The fix resolves a machine trust password time-out failure when an
IP address was used in the password server smb.conf option.
• Excessive CPU Usage During File Locking
(CR JAGaf65093)
This fix removes the unnecessary schedule yield operations so that it
is done only if file locks fail rather than for every lock. This fix may
improve server performance.
• Server Crash Due to EINTR Escape on Select Call
(CR JAGaf87049)
The fix resolves possible EINTR escapes from select calls, avoiding a
server crash due to catching those signals internally.
• Kernel Oplocks Not Initialized
(CR JAGaf87255)
The changes have been made in the HP CIFS Server code to
initialize the "kernel oplocks" smb.conf parameter properly and
turn it off by default since HP-UX does not support kernel oplocks.
