HP CIFS Client A.02.02.01 Release Notes
Fixes in this Release
The following fixes are included in the previous A.02.02 release:
• Root-priviledge check with cifsmount and cifsumount
The root-priviledge check has been implemented in this release, only users with root capabilities can
invoke the cifsmount and cisfumount commands.
• Fix for a loop defect with share-level security
This fix resolves a problem where suppling an invalid password on a cifsmount command when
share-level security is in use by the CIFS server causes an infinite error loop.
• -o fs_specific options to mount not recognized
This fix resolves a problem where the -o filesystem-specific CIFS options to mount(1M)
were not recognized.
• Resolve a NTLMv2 authentication failure problem
This fix resolves a problem in which NTLMv2 authentication fails if the domain is specified in the —D
<domain> option to cifsmount and cifslogin, or in the configuration file.
• Connection drops due to concurrent processes writing several large files
This fix eliminates a problem in which concurrent processes writing several large files on a CIFS server
could cause the CIFS client to drop its connection to the server.
• Kerberos errors incorrectly reported as system-call errors
This fix resolves a problem where some Kerberos errors are incorrectly reported by the CIFS client as
generic system-call errors, instead of the specific actual Kerberos error.
• Fix for ”Not a directory” error on new directories
This fix resolves a problem where, under certain unusual circumstances, the CIFS Client would not allow
the user to cd to, list, or remove a newly-created directory on the server.
