Troubleshooting cifsmount or mount in the
HP CIFS Client
This section includes information about problems that you may
encounter when using the cifsmount or mount command to mount a
share on a CIFS server and actions you may take to correct the problems.
How to Do if the HP CIFS Client DLKM is Unused
You may encounter the following error messages when running the
cifsmount or mount command to mount the CIFS filesystem:
$ cifsmount -U <user> -P <password> //<server>/<share> \
/<mount-point>
ERROR: UNIX: No such device
or
$ mount -F cifs <server>:/<share> /<mount-point>
ERROR mount: cifs : Invalid argument
usage: mount [-l][-v|-p]
mount [-F FStype][-eQ] -a
mount [-F FStype][-eQrV][-o specific_options]
{ special | directory }
mount [-F FStype][-eQrV][-o specific_options]
special directory
To resolve the above errors, if you ensure that all the command-line
arguments are correct and the CIFS server is up.then use the following
command to check the CIFS Client Dynamically Loadable Kernel
Module (DLKM) state:
$ kcmodule cifs
If the CIFS Client DLKM state is unused, the following output message
is displayed:
