HP CIFS Client Features
Following is a list of the HP CIFS Client major features:
• CIFS UNIX Extensions
• NTLM PAM Integration
• Kerberos Authentication, Integration with System Kerberos Cache
• ONC AutoFS 2.3 Support
• Support for Internationalized Clients
• NTLM, NTLMv2 Password Encryption
• Packet Signing
• NetBIOS Name Services, WINS, and DNS Support
• Support for Microsoft Distributed File System (MS DFS)
• Support for Dynamically Loadable Kernel Module (DLKM)
• Support for SMB over TCP using port 445
CIFS UNIX Extensions
CIFS UNIX Extensions enable the CIFS Client and Samba server to
implement standard UNIX file system features. These include:
• UNIX permission modes
• File ownership based on UNIX UIDs and GIDs
• Symbolic links and hard links
• Standard UNIX timestamps for file access, change, and modification
• Includes other data contained in the UNIX stat(2) data structure
NOTE This feature only works with CIFS servers that support CIFS UNIX
extensions.
