4 Known problems and workarounds
The following is a list of known problems and the appropriate workarounds, where ever possible
for the HP CIFS Server A.02.04.06:
• Problem
The system can fail while upgrading from an earlier version to the current version of CIFS
Server on an HP-UX 11i v1, HP-UX 11i v2, and HP-UX 11i v3 system.
Workaround
To install a current version, override the version by checking the following options in the options
tab of the swinstall command:
[ ] Reinstall filesets even if same revision exists
[ ] Reinstall files even if same one already there
[ ] Allow installation of lower version than current
• Problem
The net rpc trustdom establish command fails while attempting to establish a trust
relationship with a Windows 2008 domain, and the following error message is displayed:
NetServerEnum2 error: Couldn't find primary domain controller for
domain 2K8DOMAIN.
Workaround
There is no known workaround.
• Problem
The wbinfo command fails sometimes when there are a large number of users or groups
(~32k users or groups) in a trusted domain.
Workaround
There is no known workaround.
• Problem
The wbinfo command hangs when the trusted domain is unavailable.
Workaround
There is no known workaround.
• Problem
If the libnss_wins NSS library is used, the sh_load() error message is returned.
Workaround
The libnss_wins NSS library is not tested. Therefore, it must not be used. The library will
be removed in the future versions of the product.
• Problem
Once the wins server option is set in the smb.conf file, it cannot be cleared using SWAT
utility
