To use the HP Caliper Advisor, you perform these steps:
1. Build the application with an initial set of compiler/linker options.
2. Make one or more HP Caliper measurement runs on the application, keeping track
of the names of the databases where the performance data is kept.
3. Run the Advisor, using the databases containing the performance data. The advice
is output (printed) in a report file from the Advisor, with this kind of information:
• Explanations of the performance problems indicated by the performance data
collected
• Suggestions for changes to the application code, compiler options, linker
options, and so forth for improving the identified performance problems
• Suggestions for additional performance runs to further investigate the
identified or other potential performance problems
4. Based on the advice you receive from the Advisor, do either of the following:
