HP Auto Port Aggregation (APA) Release Notes HP-UX 11i v3 (766139-001, March 2014)

NOTE:
MANUAL mode link aggregation has been deprecated. It is planned for future obsolescence.
HP recommends to not use this configuration. Configuration with link aggregation in LACP
mode is recommended.
LB_PORT provides a better traffic distribution across each of the physical ports in the
aggregation. HP recommends using LB_PORT for efficient traffic distribution.
HOT_STANDBY is obsoleted in this version. HP recommends using LAN_MONITOR.
New feature B.11.31.71 release
The B.11.31.71 version of HP APA:
APA over DIO interfaces support.
DIO directly exposes the NIC to the guest. Support for aggregating DIO interfaces in HPVM
guest is qualified in this revision of APA. LACP Aggregation and Lan monitor mode have been
qualified for 10Gb drivers (iexgbe and iocxgbe). For how to create a DIO pool and assign
the DIO interface to HPVM guest refer DIO Admin guide.
