HP Auto Port Aggregation (APA) Release Notes for HP-UX 11i v1 and v2 September 2006
Table 1-1 Fixes in the HP APA B.11.11.20 Release
DescriptionDefect ID
The lanadmin -g command waits for user interaction.
CR: JAGaf24714
SR: 8606364059
The APA startup script does not detect if the APA's kernel components are configured into the
running kernel.
CR: JAGaf26035
SR: 8606365402
PFO: Need an option to switch the link before all links are down.CR: JAGae99833
SR: 8606338887
Allow LACP to use a different System ID.CR: JAGaf12626
SR: 8606351821
lanqueryconf creates a configuration file with errors and fails to configure any failover
groups.
CR: JAGaf26558
SR: 8606365928
Support of logging APA/LM status messages in the syslog.log file.
CR: JAGae99829
SR: 8606338883
Link aggregation with Hot Standby mode causes lanadmin -s and lanadmin -g to show
an incorrect speed.
CR: JAGaf51481
SR: 8606391337
Changing interface administration on an aggregate might cause a system panic.CR: JAGae87691
SR: 8606325401
During initialization APA will panic on memory allocation failures.CR: JAGae37449
SR: 8606273361
The landeleteconf command does not work properly when a port in the group is down.
The link aggregate is cleared, but when the down port comes up it joins the cleared link
aggregate
CR: JAGaf03058
SR: 8606342151
When the LACP state machine receives a packet, the mblk allocation routine is called while
holding a spinlock. This might cause the kernel to panic.
CR: JAGae98456
SR: 8606337449
After a port is removed, the LACP deletion code might cause ports to be resorted in an
inconsistent order. The sort order used for deletion is different from the order used during
addition. This might cause data corruption.
CR: JAGae91893
SR: 8606330770
In a system with multiple failover groups, any attempt to delete all failover groups using the
landeleteconf command stops after an error occurs.
The wrong port number is passed to the nettl logging routine when APA tries to add a port
in which the protocol is already logged to a LAN Monitor failover group.
CR: JAGae88093
SR: 8606325803
When the system boots up, the LAN Monitor failover group is not formed if any of the member
ports is DOWN (for example, a cable is disconnected).
CR: JAGad66331
SR: 8606197137
This release also includes fixes for all defects included in PHNE_28778 and earlier patches.
Known Problems and Limitations
This section provides a list of known problems and limitations as known to HP at time of publication. If
workarounds are available, they are included.
• HP ProCurve Switches
When disabling Cisco's Fast Ether Channel protocol on the HP 9000 server, the HP ProCurve switches
block that particular port from further use.
