Administering HP APA consists of performing the following tasks:
• “Modifying a link aggregate” (page 32)
• “Modifying a failover group” (page 32)
• “Deleting a link aggregate” (page 32)
• “Deleting a failover group” (page 34)
• “Displaying the current APA configuration” (page 34)
• “Displaying the link aggregate details” (page 34)
• “Modifying HP APA global parameters” (page 35)
• “Performing Critical Resource Analysis” (page 36)
• “Stopping FEC or LACP protocol” (page 36)
• “Logging messages to the syslog.log file” (page 36)
• “Viewing HP APA statistics” (page 37)
Modifying a link aggregate
To modify a link aggregate, do the following:
1. Select a link aggregate in the SMH APA main page to display the detailed view of the link
aggregate.
2. Click Modify Link Aggregate to display the Modify Link Aggregate page.
3. Select a port Instance Number to add it to or delete it from the link aggregate.
4. Select the Configuration Options you want.
5. Click OKto modify the link aggregate and set the attributes. An Operation Successful page
appears, confirming the modification of the link aggregate and the updating of the APA
configuration.
6. Click OK. The APA main page displays, showing the newly modified link aggregate.
Modifying a failover group
To modify a failover group, do the following:
1. Select a failover group in the SMH APA main page to display the detailed view of the failover
group.
2. Click Modify Failover Group to display the Modify Failover Group page.
3. Select a port Instance Number to add it to or delete it from the failover group.
4. Select the Configuration Options you want.
5. Click OK to modify the failover group and set the attributes. An Operation Successful page
appears, confirming the modification of the link aggregate and the updating of the APA
configuration.
6. Click OK. The APA main page displays, showing the newly modified failover group.
Deleting a link aggregate
To delete a link aggregate, do the following:
1. Select a link aggregate in the SMH APA main page to display the detailed view of the link
aggregate.
2. Click Delete Link Aggregate in the details pane to display the Delete Link Aggregate page as
shown in Figure 13.
