Assigning Dynamic IP Addresses Using DHCP
You can assign dynamic IP (traditional IPv4) addresses using DHCP.
NOTE: The following steps do not apply to session management using the SQL Access feature.
See Chapter 22: “SQL Access” (page 248) for more information on session management using the
SQL Access feature.
To assign dynamic IP addresses using DHCP, complete the following steps:
1. Define the DHCP address pools. See “Defining DHCP Address Pools for Specific Users
(page 286).
2. Configure the AAA Server’s DHCP Server Properties. See “DHCP Relay Properties (page 94).
3. Configure the DHCP Server to synchronize with the AAA server’s DHCP properties. See “DHCP
Relay Properties” (page 94).
4. Stop and start the AAA server. See Accessing the Server Manager” (page 49).
NOTE: Be sure the following properties on the DHCP server do not conflict with the HP-UX AAA
Server’s DHCP properties:
The DHCP server’s DHCP Lease value must be greater than the Session-Clear values.
The DHCP server must be configured to match the DHCP Send User Class setting configured
on the AAA server.
