HP-UX Workload Manager User's Guide
Chapter 8 277
8 Management of nested nPars /
vPars / workload groups
You can manage any combination of FSS or PSET-based workload groups
inside virtual partitions inside nPartitions if desired.
NOTE You can use FSS and PSET-based workload groups with partition
management. Certain software restrictions apply to using PSET-based
groups with virtual partitions (vPars), Instant Capacity, and Pay per use.
For more information, see the WLM Release Notes
(/opt/wlm/share/doc/Rel_Notes).
Setting up the various configurations
The following discussions only indicate where configuration files are
needed. For information on the WLM configuration file, see Chapter 5,
“Configuring WLM,” on page 135. For detailed information on setting up
your wlmpard configuration, see Chapter 7, “Managing SLOs across
partitions,” on page 255.
Managing FSS and PSET-based groups inside vPars
inside nPars (Instant Capacity available in the
complex)
Consider a complex, such as the one shown in Figure 8-1, consisting of
three nPartitions, with two of those nPartitions each having three virtual
partitions, and the third partition divided into two FSS workload groups
and a PSET-based workload group.
