Defining SLOs

Sales and Finance are the only workloads in the configuration. After
the priority 1 and 2 SLOs are met, the remaining CPU resources go to
Finance. If there are any CPU resources left at that point, it goes to
Sales.
You can also use any remaining CPU resources by setting the
distribute_excess tunable, as explained in the section “Distributing
excess CPU resources to your workloads (optional)” on page 218.
You can assign multiple slo structures the same priority. However, if all
the SLOs have the same priority and there are not enough resources,
some or all of the SLOs will not be met consistently. Thus, determine
which SLOs must be met and assign priorities accordingly.
Consider the following example which has two workloads, where both
have SLOs at the same priority. Fortunately, the server has the resources
to meet both workloads’ goals, as shown in Figure 5-3.
