WLM uses Temporary Instant Capacity only when more than 15 days
are available
Issue
WLM can optimize the use of Temporary Instant Capacity to meet the goals
of your workloads, using the least amount of temporary capacity needed to
met the workloads’ SLOs.
However, WLM does not use Temporary Instant Capacity when there are
fewer than 15 days of temporary capacity available.
This 15-day threshold is not mentioned elsewhere in the WLM
documentation.
Workaround
Add Temporary Instant Capacity so that the balance is greater than 15
days.
When you purchase additional temporary capacity, be sure to stop wlmpard
(using the -k option) before you add the capacity.
The WLM documentation will reflect this 15-day threshold in the next
release.
Automatic activation of Instant Capacity processor without
authorization
Issue
An Instant Capacity processor was automatically activated without
customer authorization.
Workaround
Please contact your HP representative.
If you have Instant Capacity or Pay Per Use (PPU) software installed,
either:
• Do not use WLM’s virtual partitions management, or
• Use vPars version A.03.01 or later
