Provider Overview

Description

eb-Based Enterprise Management (WBEM) is an industrywide initiative to unify the management of systems,

networks, and applications across multiple and diverse vendor environments.

The Swap Provider is a WBEM provider that enables you to get information about the properties of swap

devices configured on an HP-UX operating system. On an HP-UX system, configure a swap device using the

Logical Volume Manager (LVM) or using raw disk devices.

The Swap Provider works in the WBEM environment.

The Swap Provider gathers information related to the swap devices from systems running the HP-UX 11i v2

OS.

Setting up this provider

Installing this provider

The Swap Provider is included in the Kernel Provider bundle. During the installation of the Kernel Provider

bundle, the following files or directories related to Swap Provider must be installed on the system:

• Registration MOF file: HPUX_SwapR.mof

• Schema related MOF file: HPUX_Swap.mof

This provider is installed by default on an HP-UX 11i v2 system.

The HP-UX Swap Provider is registered to support the "root/cimv2" namespace as an instance provider.

Configuring this provider

This provider does not accept specific configuration adjustments beyond the standard WBEM support.

HPUX_Swap class. Table 1 describes the properties and methods supported by

this provider.

Note: While some properties in the table are marked with the “Write” qualifier (based on their designation in the Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF) Common Information Model (CIM) schema), all properties are read-only for this version of the Provider.
