Provider Overview

Description

Web

Based Enterprise Management (WBEM) is an industry wide initiative to unify the management of

system,

networks, and applications across multiple and diverse vendor environments. It enables WBEM

clients to subscribe to indications, and indication consumers to receive indications. HP-Storage Indication

Provider is a Common Information Model (CIM) indication provider. It works in the Web-Based Enterprise

Management (WBEM) environment. This provider generates indications whenever the events of interest

occur in the storage subsystems.

On legacy servers, HPUXRAIDSAIndicationProviderModule generates indications of the type

HP_DeviceIndication class.

On New Generation Integrity servers, HPUXRAIDSANativeIndicationProviderModule generates indications

of the type HP_DeviceIndication class.

Requirements

The provider requires:

 HP WBEM Services A.02.09.

 EMS core with version greater than or equal to v4.0 only for PA-RISC platforms.

 Support Tools Manager (STM) only for PA-RISC platforms.

 ProviderSvcsCore version greater than or equal to C.02.00.02 on Itanium platform only.

Installing this provider

The RAIDSA Indication Provider is included in the Software Distributor bundle RAIDSA-PROVIDER , which Installing

this provider includes:

 Schema MOF files: HP_DeviceIndication.mof in /opt/raidsaprovider/mof/

 Provider registration MOF file for legacy servers: HPUXRAIDSAIndicationR.mof in

/opt/raidsaprovider/mof/

 Provider registration MOF file for New Generation Integrity Servers:

HPUXRAIDSANativeIndicationR.mof in /opt/raidsaprovider/mof/

 Provider module shared library for legacy servers: libHPUXRAIDSAIndicationModule.so.1 for

Itanium and libHPUXRAIDSAIndicationModule.1for PA-RISC in /opt/raidsaprovider/lib

 Provider module shared library for New Generation Integrity Servers:

libHPUXNativeRAIDSAIPModule.so.1 in /opt/raidsaprovider/lib

 Monitor Client Configuration File for EMS to WBEM Wrapper Provider (.clcfg)
