Provider Overview

Description

Web-Based Enterprise Management (WBEM) is an industry wide initiative to unify the management

of system, networks and applications across multiple and diverse vendor environments.

The HP-UX RAIDSA-HBA Consolidated Status Provider (CSP) on HPUX reports the overall health

status of the RAIDSA-HBA subsystem in the managed node.

Requirements

The provider requires:

1. HP WBEM Services A.02.05.

2. RAIDSA-HBA instance provider.

Supported managed resources

This provider only supports HP RAIDSA interface products for HP-UX.

Supported OS

This provider is supported on HP-UX 11i v3 systems.

Setting up this provider

Installing this provider

The RAIDSA-HBA Consolidated Status Provider is included in the Software Distributor bundle

RAIDSAProvider which includes:

• Schema MOF files: HPUX_RAIDSAPortControllerCollection.mof,

HPUX_RAIDSAPortControllerGroupHostedCollection.mof, and

HPUX_RAIDSAPortControllerMemberOfCollection.mof (in /opt/raidsaprovider/mof

directory)

• MOFs registration file: HPUXRAIDSACSProviderModule.mof (in /opt/raidsaprovider/mof

directory)

• Provider registration MOF file: HPUXRAIDSACSProviderModuleRegister.mof (in

/opt/raidsaprovider/mof directory)

• Provider module shared library: libHPUXRAIDSACSProviderModule.so.1 (in

/opt/raidsaprovider/lib directory, and is the target of the symbolic link in

/opt/wbem/providers/lib/)

The HP-UX RAIDSA-HBA CSP Provider is registered to support the "root/cimv2" namespace as an

instance provider.

Configuring this provider

Description of the logging mechanism : All the errors and warnings for the CSP Provider are logged

in /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log

The RAIDSA CSP provider log messages are prefixed with “RAIDSA CSProvider”.
