1 HP-UX Mass Storage WBEM Providers Release Notes This document discusses the most recent product information on HP-UX Mass Storage WBEM Providers, which are supported on HP-UX 11i v1, HP-UX 11i v2, and HP-UX 11i v3 operating systems.
Announcement Web-Based Enterprise Management (WBEM) is an industry wide initiative to unify the management of system, networks, and applications across multiple and diverse vendor environments. The WBEM clients use the mass storage providers to gather information about various subsystems. The WBEM standard enables the WBEM clients to subscribe to indications, and indication consumers to receive indications on the occurrence of events of interest on the managed system.

What's New in This Release The following enhancements are supported by the WBEM mass storage providers: • • The SCSI and Fibre-Channel providers are supported by the System Management Homepage (SMH) application on HP-UX 11i v1 and HP-UX 11i v2 OS. The WBEM clients can obtain the HBA properties from the SMH application.

To obtain the operational status and properties of FC and SCSI subsystem, the following workaround is supported: • Enter the following command on HP-UX 11i v1 and HP-UX 11i v2 systems: # wbemexec Table 1-3 lists the XML scripts that can be used with the wbemexec command.
