1 HP-UX WBEM Kernel Providers Release Notes This document discusses the most recent product information on HP-UX Kernel providers that is supported on HP-UX 11i v2 and HP-UX 11i v3 operating systems.
Announcement Web-Based Enterprise Management (WBEM) is an industry wide initiative to unify the management of system, networks, and applications across multiple and diverse vendor environments. In the current release, the Kernel provider depot contains Kernel Configuration provider related fileset, Swap provider related fileset, and Boot and Crash dump provider related fileset. This provider works in the WBEM environment.
• Instance provider — This feature provides information about kernel configuration parameters, swap space related parameters, boot variables in stable storage, and crash dump related parameters. The kernel tunable parameters, kernel module states, and crash dump related parameters can be modified using modifyInstance method. The modifyInstance method is supported only on HP-UX 11i v3 OS. The instance provider supports enumerateInstances, enumerateInstanceNames, and getInstance method.
What's New in This Release In the current release, the Boot provider supports Modify Instance feature. This feature enables the WBEM clients to modify boot instance parameter values.
