HP-UX WBEM Kernel Provider Release Notes (5900-1466, March 2011)

Instance provider
This feature provides information about kernel configuration parameters, swap space
related parameters, boot variables in stable storage, and crash dump related parameters.
The kernel tunable parameters, kernel module states, and crash dump related parameters
can be modified using modifyInstance method. The modifyInstance method is
supported only on HP-UX 11i v3 OS.
The instance provider supports enumerateInstances, enumerateInstanceNames,
and getInstance method. Kernel Configuration and Crash dump providers support
modifyInstance method. Crash dump provider supports createInstance and
deleteInstance methods.
The enumerateInstances method returns all instances of class with all the
properties and their respective values.
The enumerateInstanceNames method returns the object path of all instances
of the class.
The getInstance method returns the requested instance with all the properties and
their respective values. There will always be only one instance.
The modifyInstance method is used to modify property values of an instance.
The createInstance method is used to create an instance of the class.
The deleteInstance method is used to delete an instance of the class.
Multiple client instances
Kernel providers supports two new properties that provide information about the usage of the
kernel tunable parameters. The two properties are:
Usage: Specifies the current usage value of the tunable.
Percentage: Specifies current usage value of the tunable in terms of percentage.
