Provider Overview
Description
Web Based Enterprise Management is an industry wide initiative to unify the management of system,
networks and applications across multiple and diverse vendor environments.
The IOTree provider makes available the basic HP-UX PCI subsystem information such as the number and
the various characteristics of the PCI slots, PCI cards, PCI devices and PCI bridges. This IOTree provider
instruments the HPUX_PCIDevice, HPUX_PCIBridge, HPUX_PCISlot and HPUX_PCICard classes.
This provider is for use by WBEM clients as part of making available the various attributes of the PCI I/O
subsystem. The current implementation is for HP-UX only and the provider is an Instance Provider (read-only
properties).

Pre-requisite:
The provider requires HP WBEM Services A.02.05 for HP-UX 11i v1.

Dependencies
WBEM Services must be installed, configured and running on the managed system to which this
provider is registered for use.
The IOTree Provider requires “root” user privileges to execute.
Setting up this
provider
Installing this provider
The IOTree provider is available as an ISU for HP-UX 11i v1.
This IOTree provider installs the following files/directories on the system:
Schema MOF file: IOTreeProvider.mof (in /opt/iotreeprovider/mof)
Provider registration MOF file: IOTreeProviderR.mof (in /opt/iotreeprovider/mof)
Provider Module executable : libIOTreeProvider.1 (in /opt/iotreeprovider/lib, and is the target of the
/opt/wbem/providers/lib/libIOTreeProvider.sl symbolic link)
The HP-UX IOTree provider is registered to support the “root/cimv2” namespace as an instance provider.
There are no special installation instructions; the provider will be installed by default with HP-UX 11i v1
0612 OE-UR and AR.
