Announcement Web-Based Enterprise Management (WBEM) is an industry wide initiative to unify the management of system, networks, and applications across multiple and diverse vendor environments. The WBEM clients use the mass storage providers to gather information about various subsystems. The WBEM standard enables the WBEM clients to subscribe to indications, and indication consumers to receive indications on the occurrence of events of interest on the managed system.
HP-UX WBEM IOTree Indication Provider The IOTree Indication Provider (IOTree-IP) generates indications when certain events occur in the PCI I/O subsystem. This provider generates the following indications: • • • • • • Slot Occupied Slot Emptied Slot Power Off Slot Power On Slot Driver Suspended Slot Driver Resumed The IOTree Indication provider supports the following features: • • • • • Supports Consolidated Status provider (CS provider).
What's New in This Release The System Management Homepage (SMH) web page display is enhanced to provide detailed information about PCI I/O subsystem installed on the system. For more information about the properties displayed, see the IO subsystem on the SMH web page.
Installing HP-UX IOTree Indication Provider The latest WBEM IOTree Indication provider depot is available for download on the OE media. It is also available on the Web for download at: http://h18013.www1.hp.com/products/servers/ management/hpsim/dl_hpux.html#managed NOTE: The mass storage WBEM providers depot available on the Web does not support CSP and IP features for all the related subsystems. Defects Fixed in This Version No defects are fixed in the current release.
Known Problems, Workarounds, Limitations There are no known problems and workarounds in the current release. Following are the limitations of the IOTree Indication provider: • • It is a read-only provider and hence does not allow users to modify, create, or delete instances. It generates events only for hot-swappable slots.
