1 HP-UX WBEM IOTree Indication Provider Release Notes This document discusses the most recent product information on HP-UX WBEM IOTree Indication provider, which is supported on HP-UX 11i v1, HP-UX 11i v2, and HP-UX 11i v3 operating systems. Table 1-1 “Documentation Support for IOTree Indication Providers” lists the product versions for which the document is applicable. Announcement Web-Based Enterprise Management (WBEM) is an industry wide initiative to unify the management of system, networks, and applications across multiple and diverse vendor environments. The WBEM clients use the mass storage providers to gather information about various subsystems. The WBEM standard enables the WBEM clients to subscribe to indications, and indication consumers to receive indications on the occurrence of events of interest on the managed system.
HP-UX WBEM IOTree Indication Provider The IOTree Indication Provider (IOTree-IP) generates indications when certain events occur in the PCI I/O subsystem. This provider generates the following indications: • • • • • • Slot Occupied Slot Emptied Slot Power Off Slot Power On Slot Driver Suspended Slot Driver Resumed The IOTree Indication provider supports the following features: • • • • • Supports Consolidated Status provider (CS provider).
What's New in This Release This version of the provider includes only defect fixes and does not offer any new features. For information about the defect fixes, see “Defects Fixed in This Version”.
Installing HP-UX IOTree Indication Provider The latest WBEM IOTree Indication provider depot is available for installation from the OE media. It is also available on the Web for download at: https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/ swdepot/displayProductsList.do?category=ISS NOTE: The mass storage WBEM providers depot available on the Web at https:// h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductsList.do?category=ISS may not support CSP and IP features for the corresponding subsystems.
Defects Fixed in This Version The following defects are fixed in the provider for September 2009 web release. Table 1-4 September 2009 Web Release version B.11.23.0909 Defect Fixes for HP-UX 11i v2 OS Defect ID QXCR1000955094 Description The HPUXIOTreeIndicationProviderModule polls the IO sub system to get the IO sub-system status. In the previous release, a single expensive system call is made for each polling cycle.
Known Problems, Workarounds, Limitations There are no known problems and workarounds in the current release. Following limitation is applicable for IOTree Indication provider: • It generates events only for hot-swappable slots.
