HP-UX WBEM IOTree indication provider
The IOTree Indication provider (IOTree-IP) generates indications when certain events occur in the
PCI I/O subsystem. This provider generates the following indications:
Slot Occupied
Slot Emptied
Slot Power Off
Slot Power On
Slot Driver Suspended
Slot Driver Resumed
The IOTree indication provider supports the following features:
Supports Consolidated Status provider (CS provider). This provider displays consolidated
status of the PCI I/O subsystem.
Reports data for the subsystem.
Supports HP-UX WBEM services to provide web access to HP-UX data for management clients.
Used by HP Software Management clients, HP System Insight Manager (SIM), HP System
Management HomePage (SMH), and others.
Supports WBEM 2.5 services security features to control access to HP-UX data.
Supports Indication Provider (IP) feature on HP-UX 11i v1, HP-UX 11i v2 and HP-UX 11i v3
OS. This feature generates indication in WBEM format and delivers the events to cimserver.
NOTE: The IOTree indication provider does not support the guests of HP-UX Virtual Partitions 6.x
What's new in this release
From March 2012 release, I/O providers except WBEMP-LAN provider,WBEMP-FCP Instance
and CSP will not run on the guest of Virtual Partitions 6.x with the following failure message:
Provider is not supported on HP Virtual Machine and Virtual Partition
This message is also displayed in /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log file as
HPUX:IOTreeIndicationProviderModule:enableIndications: Provider is not
supported on HP Virtual Machine and Virtual Partition.
